Comment The goal is to enjoy the Yokohama Bay Area, by leisure walk.
However, you may take the trains or Red shoe city bus (Akai kutsu basu), if you prefer.

(4) World Porters: have a hearty lunch !
(5) Minato Mirai 21: sight-seeing, shopping, amusements and dinner

Yamashita Park is a public park that stretches about 700 meters along Yokohama's waterfront, from Osabashi to Yamashita Pier. It is Yokohama's most famous park for picnic, walking or relaxing.
It was opened in 1930 by land filling with the rubbles from the Great Kanto Earthquake.
Major spots in this park are the 'Girl with the Red Shoes' bronze statue, the 'Guardian of Water' statue gift from San Diego and the retired naval ship 'Hikawa Maru Yokohama'.

Bonus Information:
You can enjoy beautiful flower arrangements on display during spring time and summer time.

Access: 5 minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Minato Mirai Line.

Osanbashi Pier in Yokahama

Osanbashi Pier is the main international passenger pier at the Port of Yokohama. It is the oldest pier in Yokohama's port and literally became the “gateway to Japan”.

Bonus Information:
Great sight-seeing spot for Minatomirai 21 (Yokohama's famous skycrapers including the Landmark Tower, tallest building in Japan until 2014) and the Yokokama Bay Bridge.
And you can enjoy viewing the cruising boats too!

The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse was once a historical building (the Customs Inspection House for Yokohama Bay's shipping activities). Now, it is converted into a shopping mall, banquet hall, and event venues. It is popular for family or date spots.

You can enjoy seasonal events in this area.
Christmas Marche and skating rink in winter, and October Beer Fest in autumn, etc. Highly recommended !

Minato Mirai 21 is a seaside urban area in central Yokohama whose name means "the future port". It has many large high-rises, including the Landmark Tower, tallest building in Japan until 2014, shopping malls, amusement parks, museums and hot spring facilities.
It is popular for its beautiful night-view. Very romantic. Highly recommended.

Bonus Information:
For a reasonable fee, you can see the Yokohama skyline, including the beautiful Mount Fuji on a clear day, from the Landmark Tower.
For free, you can view Mount Fuji at the top floor or Markis department store, on a clear day. Enjoy !
